Given the constant evolution of new trends in the fields of auxology, endocrinology, diabetology and paediatric gynaecology it is essential for doctors and healthcare providers to stay up to date. Our seminars are designed to interest all figures working in these areas.  In particular the project is aimed at specialists or trainees in Paediatrics, Endocrinology, Genetics and Childhood Neuropsychiatry. Content is designed to enhance knowledge and practical competence and will provide up to date information on the aetiology, physiopathology, diagnosis, therapy and management of patients  in  auxology, endocrinology, diabetology e paediatric gynaecology.  Seminars are also open to nurses, laboratory technicians, psychologists, dieticians and other professionals who work in these fields or with these patients. 

Topics will include common practices and issues in auxology, endocrinology, diabetology and paediatric gynaecology as well as more innovative approaches that can have a positive impact on the health of children and adolescents affected by these pathologies.  We have created a document detailing the theoretical knowledge and practical skills that must be acquired during the seminars (in alignment with the Syllabus of the European Society of Paediatric  Endocrinology, ESPE).

Each seminar is divided into 4 parts, to promote a dynamic and integrated approach to learning:

The seminars are aimed at all doctors, but in particular those specialising or already specialised in paediatrics, endocrinology and childhood Neuropsychiatry. Content is of interest to trainee and already practising doctors who wish to gain knowledge about the latest trends in managing pathologies in these areas. 

As well as doctors, the seminars are open to nurses, laboratory technicians and other professional figures whose work is connected to the relevant pathologies and patients.

The project has a dynamic approach to learning and each seminar will be divided into 4 parts:

1. During the first session doctors specialising in auxology, endocrinology, diabetology and paediatric gynaecology will give presentations and organise discussion on topics related to the module. The emphasis will be on clinical practices and actual cases will be considered.  The session will be moderated by one of the young doctors specialising in these areas.
2. In the second session experts in the sector will speak on a topic relevant to the module.
3. This session will have two parts: a nurse’s report on aspects of care for patients with the discussed pathologies.
4. a presentation by an expert on a specific topic with a focus on recent trends and innovations. The expert will manage and moderate this part of the seminar.

To conclude, moderators will give some ‘take away messages.  They will provide theoretical summaries and/or practical guidelines (diagnostic and therapeutic  flow charts).
